CHANGING FILTERS

Etymotic earphones have special lters that smooth the frequency response

and prevent earwax from entering the earphones. A lter is located

at the end of the earphone and is visible when the eartip is removed.

If a lter becomes clogged, it should be replaced. A dirty lter will reduce

earphone output. The lter should be changed if loudness decreases or the

sound quality declines. Note: Filters are not reusable.

Filter Removal Use the tool to remove the lter.

1. Remove eartip. 2. Insert lter tool into

the lter.

3. Remove lter.

2. Press gently

against a hard

surface to secure

it in place.

3. Re-attach eartip.1. Insert a new lter.

Filter Replacement Do not use the tool to replace the lter.
