THERMOCOUPLE MAINTENANCE
The Element4 replaces have two thermocouples; one next to
the pilot ame and one opposite the pilot burner on the other
side of the main burner. The completeness and operation of
both must be checked. A qualied installer must conrm that
the thermocouple is in place and not cracked or damaged.
Figure 76 shows a typical pilot ame engulng the rst ther-
mocouple (shown on a Trisore 95.)
VENT MAINTENANCE
The following venting system inspection by a qualied service
technician is recommended every six months:
1. Inspect for excessive condensation, e.g. water droplets
forming in the inner lining and subsequently dripping out
of the joints. This can cause corrosion in the system.
2. Check for corrosion in areas exposed to the elements.
Where rust spots or holes have appeared, these must be
immediately replaced.
3. Ensure that there is no foreign material in the vents. Survey
by removing the cap and shining a light down the vent.
4. Check all joints and pipes to make sure that nothing has
been disturbed or loosened.
