Ping
This command sends ICMP echo request packets to another node on the network
to determine if it can be reached. Possible results of the ping command:
• Normal response: The normal response occurs in 1-10 seconds, depending on
network trafc.
• Destination does not respond: If the host does not respond, a “timeout” appears
in 10 seconds.
• Destination unreachable: The gateway for this destination indicates that the
destination is unreachable.
• Network or host unreachable: The gateway found no corresponding entry in the
route table.
Press <Esc> to stop pinging.
Target IP Address: Enter the IP address of the network device youre pinging.
Count: Select the number of packets to send.
Time Out: Select the time period in which the device must respond to a ping.
Maintenance
The Maintenance menu — featuring Restart, Factory Default, Software Upload,
Conguration File Transfer and Logout subsections — presents the options and
functions that help keep the switch operating at an optimal performance level.
