Operation
ParkingBrakeLever
Locatedonleftsideoftheconsole(Figure3).
Thebrakeleverengagesaparkingbrakeonthedrive
wheels.
Pulltheleverupandrearwardtoengagethebrake.
Pushtheleverforwardanddowntodisengagethe
brake.
Height-of-CutFootLever
Theheightofcutleverallowstheoperatortolower
andraisethedeckfromtheseatedposition(Figure3).
Whentheleverismovedforward,awayfromthe
operatorthedeckisraisedfromthegroundand
whenmovedback,towardstheoperatoritislowered
towardtheground.Onlyadjusttheheightofcut
whilemachineisnotmoving.
HourMeter
Locatedonthecontrolpanel.
Thehourmeterisconnectedtoapressureswitch
installedintheengineblockanditrecordsthenumber
ofhoursthattheenginehasrun(Figure4).Ifthe
ignitionswitchisleftonwithoutenginerunning,hour
meterwillnotrun.Thehourmeterisstandardonthe
48and52inchunitsandoptionalforthe42inchunit.
Note:Thisswitchisnotalowoilsensorandwillnot
alerttheoperatoriftheengineoilislow .

Mowingonwetgrassorsteepslopescancause
slidingandlossofcontrol.Wheelsdropping
overedgescancauserollovers,whichmayresult
inseriousinjury,deathordrowning.Alossof
tractionisalossofsteeringcontrol.
Toavoidlossofcontrolandpossibilityofrollover:
•DoNotmowneardrop-offsornearwater.
•DoNotmowslopesgreaterthan15degrees.
•Reducespeedanduseextremecautionon
slopes.
•Whenmowingslopes,graduallyworkfrom
lowertohigherareasontheincline.
•Avoidsuddenturnsorrapidspeedchanges.
•Turnup,intoaninclinewhenchanging
directionsonslopes.Turningdowntheslope
reducestraction.
•Attachmentschangethehandling
characteristicsofthemachine.Useextra
cautionwhenusingattachmentswiththe
machine.
