CleaningandStorage
1.Disengagethebladecontrolswitch,movethe
motioncontrolsoutwardtotheneutralposition,
engageparkingbrake,stoptheengine,and
removethekey.
2.Removegrassclippings,dirt,andgrimefromthe
externalpartsoftheentiremachine,especiallythe
engine.Cleandirtandchafffromtheoutsideof
theenginecylinderheadnsandblowerhousing.
Important:Youcanwashthemachinewith
milddetergentandwater.DoNotpressure
washthemachine.Avoidexcessiveuseof
water,especiallynearthecontrolpanel,
engine,hydraulicpumps,andmotors.
3.Servicetheaircleaner;refertoServicingtheAir
CleanerinEngineMaintenancesection.
4.Greaseandoilthemachine;refertoLubrication
section.
5.Changethecrankcaseoilandlter;refer
toServicingtheEngineOilinEngine
Maintenancesection.
6.Checkthetirepressure;refertoCheckingthe
TirePressureinDriveSystemMaintenance
section.
7.Chargethebattery;refertoServicingthe
BatteryinElectricalSystemMaintenancesection.
8.Checktheconditionoftheblades;referto
ServicingtheCuttingBladesinMower
Maintenancesection.
9.Preparethemachineforstoragewhennon-use
occursover30days.Preparethemachinefor
storageasfollows.
A.Addapetroleumbasedstabilizer/conditioner
tothefuelinthetank.Followthemixing
instructionsfromthestabilizermanufacturer.
DoNotuseanalcoholbasedstabilizer
(ethanolormethanol).
Note:Afuelstabilizer/conditionerismost
effectivewhenmixedwithfreshgasolineand
usedatalltimes.
B.Runtheenginetodistributetheconditioned
fuelthroughthefuelsystem(5minutes).
C.Stoptheengineandturnthefuelshutoff
valve90°tothe“offposition.
D.Restarttheengineandrunituntilitstops.
E.Choketheengine.Startandruntheengine
untilitwillnotstart.
10.Removethesparkplug(s)andcheckitscondition;
refertoServicingtheSparkPluginEngine
Maintenancesection.Withthesparkplug(s)
removedfromtheengine,pourtwotablespoons
ofengineoilintothesparkplughole.Usethe
startertocranktheengineanddistributetheoil
insidethecylinder.Installthesparkplug(s).Do
Notinstallthewireonthesparkplug(s).
11.Cleananydirtandchafffromthetopofthe
mower.
12.Scrapeanyheavybuildupofgrassanddirtfrom
theundersideofthemower,thenwashthemower
withagardenhose.
13.Checktheconditionofthedriveandmowerbelts.
14.Checkandtightenallbolts,nuts,andscrews.
Repairorreplaceanypartthatiswornor
damaged.
15.Paintallscratchedorbaremetalsurfaces.Paintis
availablefromyourAuthorizedServiceDealer.
16.Storethemachineinaclean,drygarageorstorage
area.Removethekeyfromtheignitionswitch
andkeepitinamemorableplace.Coverthe
machinetoprotectitandkeepitclean.
