If you plan to expand your system by adding other components sometime in the future, ensure adequate space is left, and cooling requirements are met. b. Should you use high or low level inputs? Your Amplifier has been designed to accept either High-Level(speaker outputs from your radio) or Low-Level (Pre-Amp outputs from your radio) signal source.
EX 680M CONNECTING THE POWER CAUTION : AS A PRECAUTION, IT IS ADVISABLE TO DISCONNECT THE VEHICLE’S BATTERY BEFORE MAKING CONNECTION TO THE +12 VOLT SUPPLY WIRING(Fig. 1) 8 GAUGE (Thicker if planning for additional Amplifiers) wire is recommended for both the power and ground wires. 16 Gauge, for the remote turn-on wire. Both types available at most Mobile Audio Dealers or Installation Shops.
EX 680M INPUT GAIN CONTROL The input sensitivity adjustments range from 0.2V to 9V to easily integrate with any quality, aftermarket or source unit. AUXILIARY OUTPUT The Aux outputs offer easy system expansion. Routing signal from a source unit, pre-amplifier or equalizer is a matter of routing RCA' s into the RCA inputs and out through the line-level outputs to the next amplifier. SUBSONIC Frequency adjustment control for the subsonic filter adjustable 10-60Hz.
EX 680M MONO CHANNEL CONFIGURATION + + Lowest recommended impedance is 2-4ohm mono RCA inputs are connected to both left and right channels Gain controls to be set to match input source Line output is configured summed bridged which is ideal for subwoofer applications -7-
EX 680M TROUBLESHOOTING Before removing your Amplifier, refer to list below and follow suggested procedure. Speakers and their wires should be tested first.
