Adaptec program

Easy CD Creator

This program is beneficial for a user who works mainly with CD-R. With

this program, the user needs to create a CD layout first (Audio or data CD).

Select a file (s) from the upper portion of the screen and drag it to the

lower portion. Drop the file(s) on the CD layout and then write to the CD

as the final step.

Direct CD

This program is beneficial for a user who works mainly with CD-RW. It

allows the user to use the Drag and Drop feature in Windows Explorer to

copy and erase data. The CD-RW disk needs to be formatted before it can

be used.

FAQ

How to correct a buffer underrun error?

1. Close background programs. Press the Ctl + Alt + Del keys to

display the Close program window. The user should close all other

programs and keep only three programs running:

• Adaptec program (Easy CD Creator or Direct CD)

• Systray

• Explorer

2. Defrag your hard disk.

3. Reduce the write speed.

4. Create the disk image on the hard disk.

I cannot play a CD that I just burned on a car stereo.

Make sure you are using CD-R and the disk is closed.

I can only read CD-RW disks on the CD-RW drive.

Make sure the drive supports multi-read.

I cannot hear any sound when using the CD-RW drive to play an audio CD.

The sound will only come out from the headphones or Line-out on the

back of the CD drive.

Easy CD Creator cannot access the CD-RW drive because the Direct CD is

using it.

If you are working mostly with CD-R, uninstalling the Direct CD

program is the best solution.
