Using the CD-RW with the USB interface
After the initial installation, you can connect or disconnect the CD-RW
drive without powering off your computer. To do these follow the steps
below.
Connect the CD-RW drive via the USB port
1. Connect the 36-pin connector to the interface connector of the CD-
RW drive.
2. Connect the AC adapter plug into the DC IN jack of CD-RW drive,
and attach the AC adapter to the AC power outlet.
3. Plug the port connector of the USB cable into the USB port of
computer. The CD-RW drive is now ready for use.
Disconnect the CD-R/CD-RW from computer
Remove the USB cable from the USB port on the computer.
Installing the application software
In order to write any data or audio tracks on a CD-R or CD-RW disk, you
will need to install recording software.
Insert the recording CD-ROM software into the CD drive. The program
will start and prompt you to select a program to use.
CD-ROM disk
There are two types of disks included with the CD-RW Station package.
CD-R This is a write-once disk. (Plain CD disk with out a label) Data
is permanently written on the disk. It is compatible with all CD-
ROM drives.
CD-RW A rewritable disk. (Has a CD-RW label on the CD) It is
compatible with CD-ROMs that support multi-read and have a
speed of 24x or higher.
