Der EX-1167 ist ein interner USB 3.0 HUB für bis zu 7 Endgeräte. Die EX-1167 wird in
einen freien 3.5“ Front-Bay Schacht vom PC eingebaut. Es ist somit möglich bis zu
sieben externen USB 1.1, 2.0 oder 3.0 Peripheriegeräte an einen USB 1.1, 2.0 oder
3.0 Port vom Desktop Rechner anzuschließen. Er unterstützt alle USB Anschlüsse von
1.1 bis 3.0. Der serielle USB 3.0 Bus unterstützt optimal die Leistung des schnellen VIA
Chipsatz. Die EX-1167 gewährleistet so eine sichere Datenübertragung und exzellente
Performance von bis zu 5Gbit pro Sekunde! Es ist nicht möglich die I/O Adressen und
Interrupts manuell einzustellen, da die Einstellungen vom System (BIOS) bzw. vom
Betriebssystem automatisch vorgenommen werden. Die EX-1167 benötigt zusätzlichen
Strom vom PC-Netzteil, um die volle Leistung von 900mA an dem externen, sowie dem
internen Port zu gewährleisten.

After the hardware installation, the operating system will recognize the device automati-
cally and install the drivers.
CHECK INSTALLED DRIVER:
Open the >Device manager< . Now you should see at „USB-Controller“ the following
new entry's:
If you see this or a similar information the device is installed correctly.
CLEANING
For cleaning please use only a dry fluff less cloth and remove the dirt with gently pres-
sure. In the area of the connectors please make sure that no fibres from the cloth re-
main in the connectors. Attention! Never use a moist or wet cloth for cleaning!

Please note the following installation instructions. Because there are large differences
between the PC’s, we can give you only a general installation instructions for the EX-1167.
Please refer your computer’s reference manual whenever in doubt.
1. Turn off the power to your computer and any other connected peripherals.
2. Remove the mounting screws located at the rear and/or sides panels of your Com-
puter and gently slide the cover off.
3. Locate an available 3.5-inch front bay and insert the EX-1167. Make sure that the EX-
1167 is plugged in correctly and secured.
4. Now install the included USB 3.0 adapter card (J1) to a internal USB 3.0 port on
your motherboard
5. Then connect the USB 3.0 cable to the USB 3.0 adapter card (J1).
6. Now install the power supply via the 2 pol molex connector. (see at Connectors at
JP4)
7. Gently replace your computer’s cover and the mounting screws.
