Management Security Commands
This section describes commands used to generate keys and certificates, which you can do in addition
to loading them.
crypto certificate generate
Use this command to generate a self-signed certificate for HTTPS. The generated RSA key for SSL has a
length of 1024 bits. The resulting certificate is generated with a common name equal to the lowest IP
address of the device and a duration of 365 days.

Use this command to delete the HTTPS certificate files from the device, regardless of whether they are
self-signed or downloaded from an outside source.

crypto key generate rsa
Use this command to generate an RSA key pair for SSH. The new key files will overwrite any existing
generated or downloaded RSA key files.
