The equipment installation must meet NEC/CEC code requirements. Consult local authorities for regulations.
Determining the need to replace a fan assembly
Use one of the following methods to determine the status of the fan assemblies:
Check the fan status LED on the face of the fan. Refer to "Interpreting LED activity" for details on LED normal operation and
error conditions.
Enter one of the following commands in the command line interface to display the fan status:
show chassis
show environment fan
Time and items required to replace a fan assembly
Replacing a fan assembly should take less than two minutes.
You need the following items to replace a fan assembly:
A new fan assembly (must have the same part number and the same
airow label as the fan being replaced)
A #1 Phillips screwdriver
Replacing a fan assembly
Complete the following steps to replace a fan assembly.
1. Using the Phillips screwdriver, fully unscrew the captive screw on the fan assembly.
2. Pull on screw, and then push the screw body left with your thumb to unlock latch mechanism while holding the handle with your
index nger (refer to following illustration).
