Extra Channel Kit • Installation Guide
The extra channel kit allows a second track, with connectivity box
to be added to the AVTracoor track system. The extra channel
track is installed on structured oor, beside an existing track,
without any additional hardware or tools. For complete details
about installing the AVTrac system see the AVTrac User Guide at
www.extron.com.
The kit consists of:
• Two 4 feet lengths of base track
• Two 4 feet lengths of cover track)
• One end ller ramp.
If the Extra Channel Track is Part of a New Installation
Before installing the second track, you must complete the following steps (see the AVTrac User Guide):
F Select the installation site and remove the carpet, if necessary.
F Cut a hole in the wall, 7.5 inches W x 1.5 inches H (19.1 cm W x 3.8 cm H), to accommodate two tracks, side by side.
F Secure the rst base track channel to the oor, using the provided masonry screws. Do not install the side ramps at this
time.
The second base track channel runs beside the rst. Install it as follows:
1. Cut the second base track channel to the required length.
NOTES:
• If the length of the channel is greater than 4 feet, use a second length of base track to extend the installation, as
required.
• If the installation requires a 90° bend, see the AVTrac Corner Cut Solution Guide for complete instructions.
2. Lay the second track on the oor next to the rst.
NOTE: The tracks do not lock together; they sit side-by-side with no gap between them
3. Mark the position of the screws securing the base to the oor. See the AVTrac User Guide for information about spacing the
mounting holes (with or without AVTrac accessories).
4. Remove the base from the oor and use a 1/4 inch bit for drilling metal (not provided) to drill guide holes in the shallow
grooves in the base track, including those for any accessories.
5. Place the track on the oor. Use the guide holes to mark where the holes will be drilled into the oor.
6. Remove the track. Use the provided 5/32inch masonry bit, to drill holes 1¼inches deep into the concrete oor. Drill the
holes for accessories at the same time.
7. Remove any dust, using a vacuum cleaner.
8. Secure the track to the oor, using the provided masonry screws. At this time, do not use the holes for the accessories.
9. If the installation requires more than 4feet of track, repeat steps 1-8 to secure a second section of the base track channel.
10. Secure the side ramps, end ller ramp, and the end transition ramps to the concrete oor.
11. Complete the installation as described in the AVTrac User Guide.
NOTE: If you are installing a connectivity box at the end of each track, the horizontal top surface of each box (next to the
double AAP slot) must face the center and the angled surface (next to the triple AAP slot) must face outwards.
