5.7.15. If installing a Single-Line Turn Back Closure the installation is complete.
5.7.16. If installing a Two-Line Turn Back Closure, a second 1-1/2″ diameter round tube is
installed in the second hole from the top of the ramp handrail posts in the same
manner as the curb at the bottom. The only difference is the platform closure
brackets are secured by installing the 5/16″-18 x 2-1/4″ hex bolts into the threaded
inserts in the lower ramp handrail rather than using a nut (FIG. 5.25).

5.7.17. The 8’ x 5’ Vertical Picket Closure can only be used with the 8’ x 5’ platform. If the
ramps have Vertical Picket or Horizontal Picket handrails, first remove the 5/16″-18 x
2-1/4″ hex bolts and 5/16” flat washers from the uppermost rail and reinstall through
the slots in the 8’ x 5’ Vertical Picket Closure brackets (FIG. 5.26). If the ramps have
Single-Line or Two-Line handrails, use the included 5/16″-18 x 2-1/4″ hex bolts and
5/16” flat washers with 5/16″-18 nuts inserted through the slots in the 8’ x 5’ Vertical
Picket Closure brackets and the uppermost hole in the ramp handrail post in a similar
manner to FIG 5.22.
5.7.18. Attach the base of the 8’ x 5’ Vertical Picket Closure to the platform side rail using
four 1/4″ x 1” long self-drilling screws (FIG. 5.26).
