Use and Care Instructions for Wainscot Panels
How do I need to prepare the wall before I install wainscot panels?
The wall that you plan to install wall panels on needs to be freshly cleaned, free from dust, grease, wax, etc.
After you've cleaned the wall, be sure that it is dried thoroughly. Acceptable substrates are drywall, plaster or
clean, smooth tile. Any damaged, loose or uneven areas must be repaired, patched, leveled and primed. Fill
cracks and irregularities with wallboard compound or spackling, then sand smooth with fine-grade sandpaper.
Any porous material like highly textured drywall, plywood (or any raw wood without primer), and wallpaper
unless removed, sanded and primed, will result in adhesive failure.
What can I use to cut the wainscot panels?
To cut the wainscot panels use a utility knife, scissors or a tin snips.
What kind of adhesive do I need to install the wainscot panels?
The preferred method for installing panels is to use a notched trowel (1/4" x 1/4" x 3/4") and apply the
adhesive directly to the wall. ACP, the manufacturer of Fasade recommends using PL Premium. Please see the
installation guide for specific instructions.
If I choose to use the Tube Adhesive, how much do I need to purchase?
If using the tube adhesive to install the panels, one 10.5-ounce size tube covers approximately three wainscot
panels. Be sure to carefully read the instructions on the back of the adhesive tube before use.
