help to accommodate almost any rough opening size.

Transom:
To calculate rough opening height with a transom,
add the actual transom height to the brickmold opening height.
Half Round Transom: It is highly recommended to have a professional installer figure rough opening
measurement due to total height of entire unit. Additional work may be required to increase the size of the
opening for structural performance.

1. Between the studs, measure width at top, center and bottom of opening.
Record the smallest measurement in the white box.

Transom Height:
Doors with Sidelite(s): Continuous Head and Sill (Standard) – Rough Opening sizes shown are for our Standard
Wood Jamb Setups and Composite White (Unfinished/ Ready to Paint) Setups with Continuous Head and Sill.
Box Construction: We also offer our door units with sidelite(s) in a Box Construction Setup vs. Continous
Head and Sill. This will add ¹⁄2" to the measurements shown per sidelite. Also available is Box Constructions
with Spread Mull from ¹⁄2" to 3" per sidelite. Available on Primed Wood and Clear Pine Jamb;
Composite White (Unfinished) is also available for these options but Box Construction Size Only will be built
as Continuous Head and Sill Setup.
Double Door with Two Sidelites: Only available in Box Construction as standard and no Spread Mullion.
Composite Jambs (White: No need to paint/Paintable; and Pre-colored): Add +¹⁄2" to the measurements shown
per sidelite. Doors come in a Continuous Head and Sill setup.
Hand Stained Fiberglass Composite: Add +¹⁄2" to the measurements shown per sidelite.
Doors come in a Continuous Head and Sill setup.
Outswing Units: Come standard with a Bumper-Style Sill, which requires that you subtract 1¹⁄8" from the
Prehung Unit and rough opening height. Also add ¹⁄2" to Brickmold Opening for width.
Wheelchair Accessible: Subtract ⁷⁄8" from any of the heights shown.
Threshold: Inswing Units – Threshold height is 1³⁄8", which allows for approx. 1" opening clearance.
If a spacer is needed under sill to allow for proper opening clearance, please adjust rough opening accordingly.
