Installation Manual

FEL-PRO PermaDryPlus™ gaskets have been developed
using new technology to seal old problems.
This one -piece molded rubber gasket may not look iden-
tical to the one you have removed. It is designed to fit
typical four-piece applications and Goodwrench engines.
Fel-Pro Engineers have designed this gasket to fit both
right and left-handed dipstick tube engines. When installed,
it is normal for the gasket radius to protrude from the op-
posite side of your dipstick requirement. This gasket will
effectively seal all applications as cataloged.
CHECK PAN FLANGES for flatness. Straighten stamped
steel pans particularly around the bolt hole locations. Re-
place the oil pan if it can not be properly straightened.
Apply a small amount of RTV silicone sealer only to the
cylinder block in the following locations:
At the junction of the timing cover and cylinder block.
At the junction of the rear main bearing cap and cylinder
block.
OIL PAN GASKET

the replacement of pan bolts and lock washers for all ap-
plications. Application with pan bolts shorter than 5/8” re-
quire the use of longer bolts. Torque bolts to the following
specifications: 8 ft.lbs (10.7 Nm.) = 1.4” x 20 bolts (rail)
