Maintenance of the machine happens for preventing rust
and wear end tear. The maintenance consists mainly of
clearing and oiling. It certainly is not sufficient to handle
only the oil-syringe. Chips and waste of the machine
parts have to be removed very regularly, often more
times during turning. Otherwise there is the possibility it
lands between moving, slipping and turning parts. For
this reason chips bulldozers on the cross slide have been
placed. watch fig.18.
