Contents and general instructions Intended use The SPC11 has been designed for fitting into a machine or an automation device. In conjunction with permitted drives and measuring systems and a proportional directional control valve type MPYE-5-..., the SPC11 enables: – fast movement into the mechanical end positions and one or two selectable mid-positions – manual movement between the end positions. Depending on the drive used, fixed stops are in some cases required for protecting the drive.

Only drives with unilateral air connections are usually available here and the cushioning path is also used as the drive stroke. In some cases, the positioning time specified in chapter 2 cannot be achieved.

2. Parameters of the SPC11 for the DGP(I)(L)-... 2.1 Parameters of the SPC11 Warning Incorrectly set parameters can cause damage to the fixed stops and to the drive. Take the utmost care when setting the parameters. Certain conditions of use must be made known to the SPC11.

Specifications for setting the parameters In order to set the parameters, you will require the following specifications: – Cylinder stroke length (see type plate for drive used). – Valve type (see type plate for proportional directional control valve used). – Maximum mass load with which the drive is loaded. Mass load If you wish to position with different masses: 2-4 – Positioning with a mass up to 30 % less does not usually present any problems.

Always set the amplification and cushioning stages for the maximum mass load used. If in doubt, set first the amplification and cushioning stages for the larger mass load. The specified positioning times as well as optimum system behaviour specified in section 2.

Optimization of the positioning behaviour may be necessary in individual cases (see System manual).
