Use and Care Manual

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: HOW CAN I REMOVE CREASES AND FOLDED EDGES FROM
MY RUG?
A: If your rug arrives with creases, simply lay the rug out as soon
as possible and the creases should smooth themselves out after a
few days. If your rug arrives with curled or folded edges, you can
reverse roll the rug or bend the edges backwards and weigh
them down with a heavy object.
Q: HOW DO I MINIMIZE RUG SHEDDING?
A: Shedding of loose fibers is normal and will diminish over time.
Use a vacuum cleaner without a beater brush as it may cause
damage. For best results, vacuum from different directions,
making several passes over the area and vacuum regularly.
Q: HOW CAN I PROLONG THE LIFESPAN OF MY RUG?
A: Rotating or repositioning your rug every few months will help
to promote even surface wear, while avoiding direct and
continuous exposure to sunlight will help to maintain color. Using
a rug pad can help prolong the life of your rug as it helps to
prevent slipping against the floor, keeps the rug flat, and prevents
color transfer. Store your rug by rolling it front side out and cover
with cloth for additional protection.
Q: WHY DOES MY RUG LOOK DIFFERENT TO THE PHOTO?
A: Depending on how the rug is made and the size ordered,
colors, sizes and patterns may vary slightly. Similarly, each
handmade rug is unique to the artisan who weaved it meaning
size and color may vary slightly in each piece.
Q: IS MY RUG SAFE TO CLEAN?
A: Most rugs can be spot cleaned using water or a gentle soap,
along with an undyed cloth. Ensure to blot first, rather than
scrub, pressing firmly around the spot. For hard-to-remove
stains, professional rug cleaning is recommended.
