Use and Care Manual

USE AND CARE
WHAT TO DO FIRST
Lay your rug out fully where you
plan to have it. The rug may not lie
completely flat at first and may have
some creases, but these should
relax in a few days.
SHAG RUGS: Run a wide toothed
plastic comb (or your fingers)
through the fibers in a gentle
upward motion to create your
desired fluffy texture.
SYNTHETIC RUGS: If needed, air
your rug out, either outdoors or in a
well-ventilated room.
CURLED EDGES: If after a few days,
the edges of your rug continue to
curl, you can try either reverse
rolling your rug, or bending the
edges backwards and weighing
them down with a heavy object.
SMALL COLOR AND SIZE
VARIATIONS
Depending on how the rug is made
and the size ordered, colors, sizes
and patterns may vary slightly.
Similarly, each handmade rug is
unique to the artisan who weaved it
meaning size and color may vary
slightly in each piece.
HOW TO CLEAN STAINS
FOR ALL RUGS
Remove spills immediately. Blot the
spill with water and a clean cloth,
making sure to avoid scrubbing the
stain in further. Repeat with a dry
towel until completely absorbed.
FOR ALL RUGS EXCEPT NATURAL
FIBERS (JUTE, SISAL)
It is possible to use a drop of carpet
shampoo or clear hand-dishwashing
liquid to help with removal. Make a
soap solution and continue to blot
the stain. Once it is saturated, blot
with plain water and let air dry. For
hard-to-remove stains, professional
rug cleaning is recommended.
SHEDDING
Shedding is normal for shag and
hand tufted rugs and will decrease
over time. Vacuum often, turning off
the rotating brush and on a high
setting. Avoid pulling on any loose
ends and trim them with sharp
scissors instead.
