SAFETY
The right knob controls the front burner and the
left knob controls the back burner.
CAUTION: THE SIDEBURNER MUST COOL
DOWN BEFORE HANDLING OR
ADJUSTMENT.
Do not operate the sideburner with the cover
closed.
Be sure the sideburner has good ventilation, is free
of debris, and is away from fl ammable substances
before lighting.
Properly burning fl ames are mostly blue and are
steady and spread evenly around the burner.
STAINLESS STEEL SIDEBURNER COVER
Note: The cover is free-standing and is not
hinged in the back.
To remove the cover, carefully lift off using the built
in handle.
To replace the cover, put the back of the cover into
position against the back inner lip of the sideburner
grill rest and then lower the front into position so
that it covers the side burner opening entirely.
ORIFICE INSPECTION AND REPLACEMENT
Please refer to Table 1 for the correct orifi ce size.
Check the orifi ce size by following the instructions
below. The drill size is stamped on the orifi ce. If
the number is not visible you may have to remove
the orifi ce (as detailed below) to read the number
stamped on the side of the orifi ce.
If you are not sure you have the correct
sideburner orifi ce size (or wish to change the
orifi ce), follow the steps below.
CAUTION: If the burner has been in use, wait
until the burner and its components
are cool to the touch.
1. Turn off the gas shutoff valve. Remove
sideburner lid and lift off cooking grid.
2. Remove the double sideburner knobs, bezels, and
control panel (only). (Reference IDENTIFICATION
OF GRILL CONTROLS section for details.)
3. Reach up under the burner support and remove
the burner retaining clip (see Fig. 42-1), located
at the rear of the burner pipe.
4. Remove the burner cap and carefully lift
the burner up and out, clearing the ceramic
electrode (see Fig. 42-2), and pulling the burner
tube away from the orifi ce, located on the end
of the orifi ce holder on the left side of the unit
(see Fig. 42-3).
Note: You do not have to lift the burner completely
out of the unit to access the orifi ce.
5. Using a

socket, remove orifi ce from the
orifi ce holder (see Fig. 42-3) and check the
number stamped on the orifi ce face.
