TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSES WHAT TO DO
COOKTOP BURNERS
The burner flames are
uneven, very large,
yellow or yellow-tipped
or sooty.
Technical fault: the gas is the
wrong type or hasn’t been
adjusted properly.
Do not use your cooktop
burners. Contact your
Authorized Service Center or
Customer Care.
The ignitor keeps
clicking (continuous
spark) even when a
burner has lit.
Dirty or wet ignitor(s). Clean the ignitor(s).
See ‘Care and cleaning’
for instructions.
GRIDDLE
The surface is
discolored in patches.
Oils cook onto the surface
with repeated use.
This is normal and doesn’t
affect cooking performance.
There is a power failure
– can I still use the
griddle?
Power outage in your home
or neighborhood.
The griddle cannot be used
until power is restored.
GRILL
Flare-ups during grilling. Fatty cuts of meat.
Grill grate is not positioned
correctly; grease runs down
into the radiant tray rather
than the grease drip-pan.
Minor flare-ups are normal.
To minimize them, trim
excess fat off meat before
grilling.
Turn the grill off, wait for
it to cool, then position it
correctly. See ‘Using the
grill’ for instructions and
illustrations.
