Safety and warnings 5 WARNING! Electrical Shock Hazard All electrical work must be done in accordance with local and/or national electrical codes as applicable. For safety, this product must be earthed. Alterations to the domestic wiring system must only be made by a qualified electrician. In Australia all fixed wiring appliances must be installed by a qualified electrician. Failure to follow this advice may result in electrical shock or death.
6 Safety and warnings A power outlet should be within 750 mm of the motor assembly and can be either on the wall, behind the chimney or in the ceiling. Always switch the power off prior to installation, servicing or cleaning the wall canopy. If the supply cord of this equipment is damaged it must only be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard. Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the hood.
Preparing to install 7 Please read this instruction manual carefully in order to obtain the best results from the use of the wall canopy. If you need any technical help or would like more information about our products, please do not hesitate to contact your local Fisher & Paykel retailer. Preparing the wall canopy for installation Before installing your wall canopy: Please read the instructions carefully. Unpack the canopy and check that all functions are working.
8 Operating your wall canopy Soft touch button control panel Light button On/Off (ref. A). Power button On/ Off (ref. B). Fan speed decrease button (ref. C). Display screen (ref. D). Indicates the fan speed setting. Fan speed increase button (ref. E). Max fan speed button (ref. F). The fan will automatically increase to highest fan speed setting. Timer button (ref. G). The fan will operate for 5 minutes at the current speed and 5 minutes at each of the lower speeds before automatically switching off.
Cleaning and maintenance 9 Important! Never use abrasive or oil based cleaners Maintenance Before performing any cleaning or maintenance on your wall canopy, ensure that the power supply is switched OFF to the hood. The wall canopy should be cleaned regularly using a mild, liquid detergent to avoid a build up of grease occurring. Grease deposits are corrosive which can damage to your wall canopy. Note: in areas of high humidity or coastal environments, cleaning should be carried out frequently.
10 Manufacturer’s Warranty You automatically receive a 2 year Manufacturer’s Warranty with the purchase of this Rangehood covering parts and labour for servicing within the country of purchase. Fisher & Paykel undertakes to: Repair or, at its option, replace without cost to the owner either for material or labour any part of the product, the serial number of which appears on the product, which is found to be defective within TWO YEARS of the date of purchase.
Manufacturer’s Warranty 11 Service under this Manufacturer’s Warranty must be provided by a Fisher & Paykel trained and supported service technician (refer to the ‘Customer Care’ section at the back of this book). Such service shall be provided during normal business hours. This Manufacturer’s Warranty certificate should be shown when making any claim. For Australian Customers This Manufacturer’s Warranty is an extra benefit and does not affect your legal rights.
