Creating your SOAP GEODE:
SOAP GEODE KIT

Consumer Services: 1-800-CRAYONS (US & Canada).
NOTE: Enough supplies to create 2 geodes (4 halves); Complete one geode at a time.
1. Heat one translucent cube of soap in microwave-safe mug for 5-10 seconds. DO NOT heat for more than
10 seconds at a time or else soap will burn. Remove from microwave (Caution soap will be hot) and with
provided Stir Stick, mix soap until it starts to cool and form into a small ball. When soap is warm but NOT
hot to the touch, use paper towels to help protect hands and finish forming the soap into a firmer,
complete ball.
2. Take used end of stir stick and insert it halfway into the soap ball – this will be the center of your soap
geode. Carefully set aside.
3. With Cutting Tool, cut other opaque soap bars into multiple, roughly ½” cubes.
NOTE: Set half of the cubes aside to later make second soap geode.
Drop 1-2 cubes of opaque soap into the used mug, and microwave again for 5-10 seconds at a time. Take
the ball end of stir stick and completely cover it with the melted soap by holding the mug at an angle and
rolling it multiple times in the liquid, building layers as it cools – much like making a candied apple. Use
your hands to press warm soap layer firmly around ball on stick.
4. Repeat process in Step 5, building up multiple colored layers of soap.
No need to wash mug between melting cycles. Excess soap can be continuously melted and incorporated
into next layer of soap.
Design Tip: Combine white soap with colors to create lighter, pastel colored layers.
Once you’ve built all your soap layers, and the now larger ball is still slightly warm, carefully slide the ball
off the stick. Use fingers to carefully pinch opening of where stick was removed, together.
5. With an adult’s help, slowly cut your large ball of soap in half to reveal your soap geode layers!
6. Then using Cutting Tool or Stir Stick, carve out a small amount of the center translucent core and carefully
press Epsom Salts into opening, create a real geode look!
7. Repeat steps to create second soap geode. Then place on display or give as a gift!
