Prime Sports Rubber Flooring is the put anywhere, ready for anything, heavy-duty
interlocking tile. It is designed for use in small areas of larger rooms such as workout
areas, laundry rooms, craft areas, garage spaces to protect existing flooring while
providing comfort underfoot. Due to the recycled nature of this product, color can vary
from piece to piece and material may contain skive marks (marks across the surface of
the material from cutting) from the manufacturing process.
1. PREPARE the existing floor for installation by sweeping away any dirt or debris.
Have a few tools available to help with the installation: a straight edge, chalk or
pencil, utility knife, a scrap piece of thick cardboard or wood to cut on, and a
transition piece to accommodate any door openings.
2. INSTALL
Interlocking cutting allowance of 10-12% should be added to the area depending on
the pattern for installation.
Wall-to-Wall: If installing an entire room, allow a 1/8" expansion gap around the
perimeter of the room.
1. Start in a far corner of the room to begin installation and work towards the
doorway. To ensure a tight fit against the wall, cut away the tabs on the edges. To
create the first corner piece, cut away the tabs on two edges. Cut on a scrap piece
of thick cardboard or wood to avoid damage to floors or carpets.
2. Press the linking tabs into one another by starting at a corner and working
across in both directions evenly to avoid stretching the tile.
3. When installing a transition piece at a doorway, please use the manufacturer’s
instructions.
Open Space: If installing a small space within a larger room, use chalk or pencil to
mark the area to be covered.
1. Create the first corner tile by cutting away the tabs on two edges. Cut on a scrap
piece of thick cardboard or wood to avoid damage to floors or carpets.
2. Lay the first corner piece in the far corner of your caulked area and start linking
tile working across in both directions. Use the straight edge and utility knife to cut
away the tabs on the edges.
3. COMPLETE
Once installation of the tiles is complete, remove all installation debris from the
room and damp mop the surface with a mild detergent and rinse with clean cool
water. Once dry, you can begin to enjoy your new Prime Sports flooring and your
new space! Maintain your new floor by dust mopping or damp mopping as needed.
