BEFORE YOU GET STARTED A little pre-planning will ensure that you set Flex up correctly and most efficiently.
PLAN FOR SUCCESS 1. Setting Flex up in the place you want it to reside will reduce the need to move it once it’s assembled.Open all seat boxes and lay them out where you want your furniture to go. (See figure 1.) Note: Each seat base has two side rails – these are the sides of the seat box, while the non-railed sides are the front and back 2. Open all back, arm, and corner back boxes. 3.
CREATE A SEAT BASE AND BACK COMBO This is your foundation for building a chair, loveseat, or sofa. Rail C-Clip & Thumbscrew Step 1: Seat Base Attach a C-Clip to the white disc on the side of the seat base without the rail. Line up the holes of the C-Clip and white disc and fasten securely with a thumbscrew. Back Seat Base J-Bracket Step 2: Back Insert J-Brackets into the white indicators in the back. Then, slide the back with the J-Brackets onto the seat base.
BUILD OUT FOR CHAIR Add C-Clips here Step 3: Arms Attach C-Clips to the white discs on the sides of the seat base with the rails. Line up the holes of the C-Clip and white disc and fasten securely with a thumbscrew. Place J-Brackets into the white indicators in the arms and slide the arms into the sides of the seat base. Align the front of the arm with the front of the seat base so that they’re even. Note: The arm has a slit in the fabric on the bottom to allow the C-Clip to hold it.
Suspension Step 5: Blue Steel SpringTM Suspension Set the suspension into the seat base. The “Front” tag should be facing the front of the chair. Step 6: Cushions Step 7: Relax! Place the seat and back cushions.
BUILD OUT FOR LOVESEAT OR SOFA C-Clip for connection Step 3: Connect the Seats Step 4: Add the Arms Once you have your multiple seat boxes and back units built, connect them with a C-Clip in the middle to make the loveseat or sofa. Place J-Brackets into the white indicators in the arms and slide the arms into the ends of the seat bases. Align the front of the arm with the front of the seat base so that they’re even. Note: The arm has a slit in the fabric on the bottom to allow the C-Clip to hold it.

BUILD OUT FOR A S E C T I O N A L Tip: Pre-Plan Prepare your layout by setting the seat boxes where you want your sectional placed. All of the rails on the seat boxes should be on the sides, and the non-railed sides should be facing front/back. C-Clip & Thumbscrew Step 1A: Seat Bases Step 1B: Connect Seat Bases Attach a C-Clip to the white disc on the side of the seat base without the rail. Line up the holes of the C-Clip and white disc and fasten securely with a thumbscrew.
Back Seat Base J-Bracket Step 2: Backs Insert J-Brackets into the white indicators on the backs. Then, slide the backs with the J-Brackets onto the seat bases. Corner Back Step 3A: Corner Back Insert the J-Brackets into the white indicators on the corner back and drop the corner back into the corner seat base.
Step 3B: Securing the Corner Back Secure the corner back by using a C-Clip for the side-to-side connection. Step 4A: Arms Add C-Clips to the far sides of the sectional seat bases that have rails. Place J-Brackets into the white indicators in the arms and slide the arms into the ends of the seat bases. Make sure the front of the arm is even with the front of the seat base. Note: The arm has a slit in the fabric on the bottom to allow the C-Clip to hold it.
4B: Secure the Arms Attach the C-Clips to the white discs in each corner to connect the back to the arms. Line up the holes of the C-Clip and white disc and fasten securely with a thumbscrew. It is not required to connect backs together side to side with a C-Clip. Your order may include extra C-Clips.
Suspension Step 5: Blue Steel SpringTM Suspension Set the suspension into each seat box. The “Front” tag should be facing the front of the sectional seats. Place Angled Back Pillow Step 6: Cushions Place the seat and back cushions on each seat. The angled pillow goes on the corner back.
