5.4ACCurrentMeasurements
WARNING:EnsurethatpowertothedeviceundertestisOFFbeforestartingthisprocedure.
SwitchpowertothedeviceundertestONonlyaftertheclamphasbeensafelyattachedtothe
deviceundertest.
CAUTION:DonotmovefingersabovetheLCDatanytimeduringatest.
1. SwitchthemeterOFFandswitchpowertothedeviceundertest
OFF.
2. Turntheclamplock(1)counter‐clockwisetoreleasetheflexible
clamp(2).
3. Fullyencloseonlyoneconductorofthedeviceundertestwiththe
flexibleclampprobe(seediagrambelowforCorrectandIncorrect
usage).
4. Re‐securetheclamplock(1)afterclampingaroundasingle
conductor.
5. Donotattempttomeasurecurrenthigherthanthespecified
currentlimit.
6. SwitchthemeterONandthenswitchpowertothedeviceunder
testON.Nevermovefingersabovethedisplay
areawhen
runningatest.
7. Readthecurrentvalueinthedisplay;‘OL’will
displayifthemeasuredsignalexceedstherange.ThemeterdefaultstotheAutoRange
mode;theAutoRangeicon isvisibleonthedisplay.Themeterwillautomaticallyselect
theappropriaterangewheninAutoRangemode.
8. Tomanuallyselecttherange,usetheRANGEbuttontostepthroughtheavailableranges
(30.00A/300.0A/3000A).
