GETTING STARTED TOOLS NEEDED PARTS OVERVIEW FILL VALVE Bowl Water Level Dial Bucket Sponge Towel Scissors Tank Water Level Adjustment Screw Refill Tube Refill Clip Shank Washer Locknut 2 UNIVERSAL 2" & 3" SUPER FLAPPER (Optional)
STEP 1: PREPARE TANK A: TURN OFF WATER B: DRAIN WATER Flush toilet to drain most of the water from the tank.
STEP 2: REMOVE OLD FILL VALVE A: REMOVE CONNECTOR Remove water supply connector from bottom of fill valve by twisting connector nut to the left. Towel (Optional) NOTE: Inspect water supply connector. Replace it if it is worn, or you don’t know how old it is, to prevent flooding and property damage. B: REMOVE OLD LOCKNUT Below tank, twist locknut to the left to remove from fill valve. C: REMOVE OLD FILL VALVE Including refill tube, refill clip and shank washer.
STEP 3: REMOVE OLD FLAPPER A: DISCONNECT FLAPPER CHAIN B: REMOVE FLAPPER FROM FLUSH VALVE SEAT Simply unhook or lift flapper arms off the flush valve mounting posts, depending on the type of flapper.
STEP 4: INSTALL NEW SUPER FLAPPER A: MEASURE OLD FLAPPER Remove the old flapper. Measure the old flapper with the Easy Sizing Guide inside the packaging: • 2" flappers will better fit the RED measuring guide. • 3" flappers will better fit the BLUE measuring guide. NOTE: If you do not have access to the packaging Easy Sizing Guide, use the one on the next page.

STEP 4: INSTALL NEW SUPER FLAPPER IF YOUR FLAPPER IS 2" B1: Stretch the BLUE Seal to remove it. B2: Remove the BLUE Bulb. B3: Remove the BLUE Arms by lifting up on tabs. B4: INSTALL NEW FLAPPER Place flapper on top of flush valve seat and snap the RED Arms onto flush valve mounting post. Continue to Step C.
STEP 4: INSTALL NEW SUPER FLAPPER IF YOUR FLAPPER IS 3" B1: Stretch the RED Seal to remove it. B2: Clip the BLUE Arms to install.
C: ATTACH FLAPPER CHAIN TO LEVER Pinch clasp of clip and attach the clip to the tank lever directly above the flapper. Leave roughly ½" inch of slack in chain (small “j” shape). To adjust chain length, remove clip and reposition lower on the chain for shorter length. Note: We will adjust the flapper in Step 9 after setting the proper water level in the tank and bowl. Small “j” shape TIP: A quick and easy way to adjust the chain length.
STEP 5: ADJUST HEIGHT OF NEW FILL VALVE A: TWIST FILL VALVE TO ADJUST HEIGHT Top of fill valve cap should measure roughly 3" above top of overflow pipe when installed. NOTE: Increasing height allows more water to fill in the tank. HOLD TWIST LEFT Fill Valve Cap *Lever Hole Do Not Move Lock Ring TOP OF FILL VALVE CAP 3" TOP OF OVERFLOW PIPE Overflow Pipe * If the top of your overflow pipe is not at least 1" below the bottom of the tank lever hole, adjust it.
STEP 6: INSTALL NEW FILL VALVE A: PUSH REFILL TUBE ONTO REFILL PORT FIRST B: ATTACH REFILL CLIP TO OTHER END OF REFILL TUBE C: INSERT FILL VALVE Refill Tube Refill Clip Position refill tube to face flush valve making sure fill valve parts do not interfere with lever arm.
STEP 7: FINISHING STEPS A: ATTACH WATER SUPPLY CONNECTOR TO FILL VALVE Twist to the right *Hand-tighten only. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN. B: TURN ON WATER Check for leaks. C: WATER LEVEL After the tank stops filling, water level should fill the tank to roughly ½ inch below top of overflow pipe to ensure a proper flush. (Does not need to be exact.) **Lever Hole Top of Overflow Pipe 1/2" Water Level Overflow Pipe * Overtightening may damage fill valve or coupling nut, potentially causing flooding.
STEP 8: FINE-TUNE TANK WATER LEVEL A: FLUSH THE TOILET TO CHECK THE TANK WATER LEVEL After the water stops filling the tank, the water level should be roughly ½ inch below the top of overflow pipe to ensure a proper flush. 1/2" Overflow Pipe See Step 7C for full tank view B: WATER LEVEL IS TOO LOW Turn the tank water level adjustment screw clockwise to raise the float. Flush to reset water level. WATER LEVEL IS TOO HIGH Turn the water level adjustment screw counterclockwise to lower the float.
STEP 9: FINE TUNE FLUSH A: TEST FLUSH Drop 3 squares of toilet paper in bowl then flush. B: ADJUST FOR MOST EFFICIENT FLUSH Continue to adjust dial down one setting and flush until toilet is unable to flush paper properly. Note: Flapper dial is pre-set to maximum setting. MORE WATER FLUSHED C: FINAL SETTING LESS WATER FLUSHED Once unable to flush paper, adjust dial up one setting for final setting.
STEP 10: FINE-TUNE BOWL WATER LEVEL A: FILL BOWL WITH A GALLON OF WATER Wait 1 minute until the bowl water level recedes down and stops. B: MARK THE WATER LEVEL IN THE BOWL With a pencil, draw a line at the top of the water level in bowl. (Pencil mark will easily wash off). C: FLUSH TOILET TO CHECK BOWL WATER LEVEL If the water level matches the line you’ve made in the bowl when the fill valve stops filling the tank, the water level is correct, proceed to Step 11.

TROUBLESHOOTING IF THE FILL VALVE: • DOES NOT TURN ON • WON’T TURN OFF • WON’T REFILL TANK REMOVE CAP AND CHECK FOR DEBRIS A: Turn off water supply, then flush toilet. B: With right hand push float up, grip and hold shaft under float. C: With left hand twist cap and lever arm counterclockwise to unlock cap. Let cap hang on float cup. D: Hold empty cup upside down over uncapped valve to prevent splashing. E: Turn water supply on and off a few times, then leave it turned off. F: Replace valve cap.
TROUBLESHOOTING REPLACE FILL VALVE SEAL A: B: C: Cap Remove cap. Replace seal with a *genuine Fluidmaster 242 Seal. Replace valve cap. • Place cap assembly on top of gray valve body by Seal aligning cap arm and adjustment rod next to refill tube. • Press down on top cap while rotating top & arm clockwise to locked position. * Always use genuine Fluidmaster parts when installing or repairing. Fluidmaster will not be responsible or liable for use of non-Fluidmaster parts during installation or repair.
TROUBLESHOOTING IF YOUR FLUSH IS WEAK OR FLUSHING MULTIPLE TIMES WEAK OR NOT FLUSHING A: If your chain is not properly lifting the flapper, move the clip 3 or 4 links down the chain to reduce the chain slack. (Refer to “TIP” on chain on Page 11.) FLAPPER IS CLOSING TOO FAST A: Turn blue dial on top of the flapper clockwise to achieve desired flush. B: If your flapper’s size is 3", confirm your Blue Bulb is attached. If not, attach bulb to bottom of flapper by pressing it back on.
TROUBLESHOOTING TOILET KEEPS RUNNING IF YOUR FLAPPER’S SIZE IS 2" A: Confirm BLUE Seal is removed (See Step B1 under 2" on Page 9). B: Confirm BLUE Bulb is removed (See Step B2 under 2" on Page 9). C: Confirm BLUE Arms are removed. Ensure flapper is attached using the RED Arms. (See Step B3 under 2" on Page 9). IF YOUR FLAPPER’S SIZE IS 3" A: Confirm RED Seal is removed (See Step B1 under 3" on Page 10). B: Ensure flapper is attached using the BLUE Arms.
TROUBLESHOOTING REASSEMBLY OF FLAPPER PUTTING ARMS BACK ON A: Attach the RED Arms by aligning RED Pegs with the holes on the frame of the flapper (Ensure position of the arms match the image shown). Press down until you feel it snap into place. B: Attach the BLUE Arms by aligning the BLUE Mounting Clips over the RED Mounting Clips as shown (Ensure position of BLUE Arms matches the image shown). Align BLUE Pegs with the holes on the RED Arms. Press down on BLUE Tabs until you feel it snap into place.
TROUBLESHOOTING REASSEMBLY OF FLAPPER PUTTING SEALS BACK ON A: Attach BLUE Seal by stretching it until it’s inside of the groove closest to the top of the flapper. Make sure the seal is fully inserted in the groove. B: Attach RED Seal by stretching it until it’s inside of the second groove from the top of the flapper. Make sure the seal is fully inserted in the groove. PUTTING BULB BACK ON A: 24 Attach the BLUE Bulb by aligning the large opening with the bottom of flapper.

Remueva el conector de suministro del agua de la parte inferior de la válvula girando la tuerca del conector hacia la izquierda.

NOTA: Incrementando la altura permite que el tanque se llene con más agua.

Una vez que el tanque termine de llenar, el nivel del agua debe llenar el tanque hasta aproximadamente 1,27 cm (1/2") más abajo de la parte superior del tubo de desagüe para asegurar una descarga adecuada. Una vez que el tanque termine de llenar, el nivel del agua debe ser aproximadamente 1,27cm (1/2") más abajo de la parte superior del tubo de desagüe para asegurar una descarga adecuada. EL NIVEL DEL AGUA ES MUY BAJO. Gire el tornillo de ajuste del nivel de agua en el sentido a las agujas del reloj para subir el flotador.

D: Si la válvula de llenado se apaga y el nivel del agua NO alcanza a la línea en la taza, el nivel del agua está MUY BAJO, proceda al Paso 10D. AJUSTE EL NIVEL DEL AGUA DE LA TAZA. MUY ALTO: Gire el dial en el sentido a las agujas del reloj.
SOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS SI LA VÁLVULA DE LLENADO: (PÁGINA 19) ESCANEAR PARA CONSULTAR EL VIDEO DE SOLUCION DE PROBLEMAS • NO SE PRENDE • NO SE APAGA • NO RELLENA EL TANQUE REMUEVA LA TAPA Y REVISE POR MUGRE A: Cierre el suministro del agua, después descargue el sanitario. B: D: Con la mano derecha, apriete y sostenga el vástago debajo del flotador, suba el flotador con su mano derecha.
EL NIVEL DEL AGUA EN LA TAZA DEL SANITARIO ESTÁ DEMASIADO BAJO (PÁGINA 20) A: EL AGUA DE LA MANGUERA DE RELLENO TIENE QUE FLUIR A TRAVÉS DEL TUBO DE DESAGÜE Asegúrese que la manguera de relleno esté supliendo agua dentro del tubo de desagüe. (El clip de relleno con el metal hacia afuera.)
