STEP 2: REMOVE OLD PARTS E: REMOVE TANK FROM BOWL A: REMOVE CONNECTOR Remove water supply connector from bottom of fill valve by twisting connector nut to the left (clockwise). Towel (Optional) NOTE: Inspect water supply connector. Replace it if it is worn, or you don’t know how old it is, to prevent flooding and property damage. B: DISCONNECT FLAPPER CHAIN LEFT Using plyers, unscrew nuts from under the bowl and remove bolts from tank.
STEP 3: INSTALL FLUSH VALVE A: REMOVE FLUSH VALVE PIECES FOR INSTALLATION. Remove cardboard from under flapper and discard. Remove gasket (a), locknut (b) and friction washer (c) (cardboard) and keep for installation. STEP 3: INSTALL FLUSH VALVE C: USE RULER ON THE RED WRENCH TO MEASURE AND ADJUST NEW FLUSH VALVE Mark the flush valve 1” below bottom of tank lever hole. NOTE: The top of the overflow pipe must be at minimum of 1” below the tank lever hole.
STEP 4: INSTALL TANK-TO-BOWL GASKET STEP 4: GASKET FOR GERBER® TOILETS GERBER® TOILETS: A: IDENTIFY YOUR GASKET A: Tear the three perforated tabs off the black gasket. All Other (Below) Gerber® (p.9) Kohler® (p.10) B: INSTALL LOCKNUT Place the black gasket (a) onto the bottom of the valve, followed by the friction washer (b) and locknut (c).
STEP 4: GASKET FOR KOHLER® TOILETS STEP 4: GASKET FOR KOHLER® TOILETS (CONT.) D: Use the red wrench to tighten the KOHLER® TOILETS: locknut 1/2 turn beyond handtight. Do not overtighten. A: Position black gasket onto bot- tom of tank and press plugs into holes. Ensure tank gasket is flush with bottom of toilet tank. Red Wrench E: SECURE TANK TO BOWL. B: INSTALL LOCKNUT Position friction washer (b) and locknut (c) onto bottom of flush valve.
STEP 6: FINISHING STEPS STEP 5: SECURE TANK TO BOWL A: INSTALL RUBBER WASHERS Place one rubber washer on each tank bolt. A: Rubber washer ATTACH REFILL CLIP TO OVERFLOW PIPE Note: If refill tube is too long to fit inside tank with lid closed, remove refill tube from fill valve refill port, cut Scissors tube and reattach to port. (Optional) B: B: INSERT BOLTS INTO TANK Place tank bolts through bottom holes of tank. Tank CONNECT FLAPPER CHAIN Attach clip to the tank lever directly above the flapper.
STEP 7: FINE-TUNE FLUSH STEP 8: FLUSH THE TOILET A: TEST FLUSH A: FLUSH THE TOILET If you’re satisfied with the flush, YOU’RE DONE! Drop 3 squares of toilet paper in bowl then flush. B: ADJUST FOR MOST EFFICIENT FLUSH Continue to adjust dial down one setting and flush until toilet is unable to flush paper properly. Note: Flapper dial is pre-set to maximum setting (9).
TROUBLESHOOTING TROUBLESHOOTING WATER LEVEL IN BOWL IS TOO LOW A: WATER FROM REFILL TUBE MUST FLOW THROUGH OVERFLOW PIPE Make sure the refill tube is supplying water down C: FLAPPER MAY BE CLOSING TOO SOON Give flapper chain approximately 1/2" of slack. (small “j” shape) Refill Tube overflow pipe. (Metal side out for refill clip) Overflow Pipe B: WATER LEVEL IN TANK MAY BE TOO LOW 1/2” below top of overflow pipe is recommended.

Descarge el inodoro para drenar la mayor parte del agua del tanque. PASO 2: REMUEVA LAS PARTES VIEJAS A: A: REMUEVA PARTES DE LA VÁLVULA DE DESCARGA PARA LA INSTALACIÓN. Remueva el cartón debajo del tapón y tire. Remueva la empaquetadura (a), contratuerca (b) y arandela de fricción (c) (cartón) y quédeselos para la instalación.
