4.14 DELAYED TIMEBASE
The Delayed Timebase (DEL’DTB) has two basic 
functions:
• To magnify and display any detail of the signal displayed with the main 
timebase.
• To permit more accurate timing measurements.
STANDARD SETTING
To start from a predefined state, you must recall the standard front setting.
- Simultaneously press the STATUS and TEXT 
OFF keys.
- Connect the Probe Adjust signal to channel 1.
- Shift the trace to the upper half of the screen 
as indicated.
DELAYED TIMEBASE MainTB and Del’dTB
- Press the Delayed Timebase DTB key to enter 
the DELAYED TIMEBASE menu.
- Press the ’DEL’D TB on off’ softkey to turn on 
the Delayed Timebase.
The main timebase trace and delayed timebase 
trace are displayed simultaneously.
The upper trace is the Main Timebase trace. The Main Timebase trace shows an 
intensified portion. It may be necessary to adjust the trace intensity with the 
TRACE INTENSITY control to the left of the screen.
The lower trace is the Delayed Timebase trace. This represents the intensified 
part of the upper trace.
Since all primary functions have dedicated keys and controls on the front panel, 
the menu can now be turned off.
- Press the TEXT OFF button to turn off the menu.
