b) Operations
Operation 1. After

screwing the gas regulator
the gas block (fig. 8), un-
screw by one complete turn so that the figure 7
is in line with the axis of the gas escape hole
(fig. 9).
This is the fully open position and,
when a round is fired, causes a “short recoil”,
identifiable by the holding open device failing
to engage the mechanism.
Operation 2. Close the gas regulator click by
click and fire a cartridge after each adjustment
until the breech block is held to the rear by the
holding open device.
Operation 3. Now verify by firing several car-
tridges, one after the other, in the way described
above.
Operation 4. If any shot results in a failure of
the holding open device to engage the mecha-
