NOTE: Some jurisdictions limit the magazine capacity. All FN pistols
intended for sale in those jurisdictions will be shipped with magazines not
exceeding the specified number of rounds in compliance with local or state
law. Verify the capacity of your magazine before loading it in your pistol to
avoid violating local laws in these
jurisdictions.
9.7 ACCESSORY MOUNTING RAIL
The FN 509 is equipped with a
reinforced accessory mounting rail in
front of the trigger guard and is
compatible with a wide variety of
accessories (Figure 34).
9.8 THREADED BARREL
(APPLICABLE ONLY TO PISTOLS WITH THREADED BARRELS)
Some FN 509 pistols may be equipped
with a threaded barrel that allows for
the attachment of a suppressor or
other muzzle device. The threading is
½" -28 and comes with a thread
protector that should be installed if a
suppressor or muzzle device is not
installed (Figure 35).
The FN 509 should only be used with
suppressors intended for use with the
cartridge for which it is chambered.
Ensure the suppressor is in good condition and is mounted squarely and
securely to the barrel.
Muzzle devices such as Compensators can be installed on the threaded
barrel. Make sure the hole through the device is larger than the bore
diameter and is aligned with the bore.
