17.1. DISASSEMBLING THE PISTOL

It is very important to become familiar with the disassembly procedure of

the pistol as disassembly is required during the cleaning and lubrication

procedure which ensures reliable operation of the pistol.

Frame

Move the slide forward and off of the frame.

Takedown Lever

1. Completely unload the pistol as described in Section 16.1.

2. Pull the slide fully rearward

and lock it into its rear position by pressing

the ambidextrous slide stop upward.

3. Unscrew the thread protector on the end of the barrel (FNX-45

Tactic™al only) (Figure 18).

4. Rotate the takedown lever 90° clockwise (Figure 19).

Slide
