PROBLEMS
Cutting not to size (continuous)
Cuts at wrong angles
Axis position error
Too many chips built up on
machine
POSSIBLE CAUSES
Incorrect clamping.
Extruded profiles not straight.
Profiles not squared up.
Uneven paint layer thickness.
Profile height measuring kit not
working properly.
Machine not levelled properly.
Incorrect Y or Z axis zero
measurement.
Incorrect clamping.
Extruded profiles not straight.
Profiles not squared up.
Insufficient voltage.
Sliding guideways dirty with chips
or not lubricated.
Axes circuit board fault.
Too much cutting lubrication.
Wrong type of cutting oil.
REMEDIES
Position clamps correctly (see
also Chap. 9.3).
Use straight extruded profiles.
Use squared up profiles.
Use the profile height measuring
kit.
Place a profile of known height on
the machine and clamp it in place,
measure it with the caliper and
check that the measurement given
is the same as the true one (with
a max. error of ±0.1 mm);
otherwise, contact the FOM
Service Assistance.
Check the machine levelling
again (see Chap. 5.4).
Contact FOM Service
Assistance.
Position clamps correctly (see
also Chap. 9.3).
Use straight extruded profiles
Use squared up profiles.
Check the supply voltage.
Clean the guideways of chips or
grease them.
Contact FOM Service
Assistance.
Reduce the flow of lubricating oil
to the blade.
Fit a chips exhauster or a
dedicated chips extraction
system.
Clean away chips more
thoroughly or more frequently.
