FreshAire MERV 13 Filter Installation Instructions for Kühl® .
Maintaining the best indoor air quality possible requires that you prevent harmful pollutants from
circulating throughout your space. Follow the instructions below to install Friedrich's uniquely
designed FreshAire MERV 13 filter into your Kühl Room Air Conditioner.
• Open the hinged plastic front of your air conditioner to gain access to the filter area.
• Remove the original washable filter using the filter grip handle and store in a safe location for
future use.
• Remove the two chassis fasteners using a 1/4" nut driver. Attach the two filter retainer
brackets to the chassis using the chassis fasteners as seen in the figure below. (Figure 1)
• Mark the date of installation on the side of the FreshAire MERV 13 filter in the space provided.
The filter in your Kühl should be replaced every 30 days.
• Place the back edge of the filter into the coil opening with the notches at the top and the
airflow arrows pointed towards the unit. The filter will fit comfortably on the base pan. (Figure
2)
• Once the filter is in place, pivot the filter retainers so that they are over the filter, securing it in
place. (Figure 3)
• Close the hinged plastic front. Your filter installation is complete!

Friedrich FreshAire filters are the only MERV 13 filters tested and approved for use in Kühl models. Use of any non-
Friedrich filter may result in performance degradation of the unit and filter as well as void the warranty.
