Damp objects stick to cold metal surfaces. Do not touch inner metal surfaces
with wet or damp hands.
Unplug the power cable from the electrical outlet (to avoid electrical hazards)
when defrosting the freezer.
if the freezer is kept closed. If the power failure continues, pack seven or eight
pounds of dry ice into the freezer every 24 hours.
Always wear gloves and use caution when handling dry ice.
If the freezer is not working, see “Freezer does not run” in the Checklist of
Common Problems of this manual. If you cannot solve the problem, call the
authorized service immediately.
Do not open the freezer lid unnecessarily. If the freezer remains off for several
hours, follow the directions above for the use of dry ice during a power failure.
Short vacations:
Leave the freezer operating during vacations of one to three weeks long.
Long vacations:
If the freezer will not be used for several months:
• Remove all the food, turn the control to neutral position, and unplug the power
cord.
• Clean and dry the interior thoroughly.
• To prevent odor and mold growth, leave the freezer lid open slightly, blocking
it open if necessary.
Moving:
• Unplug the power cord.
• Remove the food, defrost the freezer, and clean it thoroughly.
• Secure all loose items, such as the base panel, shelves and the slide-out
basket, to prevent damage.
• In the moving vehicle, secure the freezer in the upright position, making sure
that it can not move. Also protect the exterior of the freezer with a blanket, or
similar item.
Vacation and moving tips
Clean the condenser coils with a vacuum cleaner in the presence of dust or dirt.
Always clean the unit always after defrosting to keep the appliance free from
odor and assure an efficient performance
Cleaning the outside
Wash the cabinet with warm water and mild detergent. Rinse well and wipe dry
with a clean soft cloth. Replace parts and food.
