OCCURRENCE SOLUTION
Louder sound levels whenever
freezer is ON
• Modern f reezer s have increas ed stor age capa biliti es and m ore e ven
tem peratu res. T hey re quir e a h igh ef fici ency com pres sor. W hen th e
surr ounding n oise level is low, you m ight hear the co mpress or running
while it cools the interior.
Louder sound levels when
compressor comes ON
• Fr eezer opera tes at higher pressur es during th e start of t he ON cycle.
Th is is norm al. So un d w ill level o ff or disapp ear as f ree zer co nt inue s to
run.
Popping or cracking sound when
compressor comes ON
• Met al parts un dergo ex pansion a nd con traction, as in hot wa ter pipes .

Bubbling or gurgling sound, like
water boiling
• R efrigerant ( used to c ool fre ezer) is ci rculat in g throug hout the s ys tem.

Vibrating or rattling noise
• Freezer is not leve l. It ro ck s on the f loor w hen it i s moved s lig htly.
Level the un it. Ref er to “ Leve l ing” i n th e Fir st St eps se c tion.
• Floor is unev en or weak . Fre ezer rock s on the floor whe n it is m oved
slight ly. Be su re f loor ca n ad equat ely s uppor t f reezer. Leve l t he
fre ezer b y put ting wo od or m et al s h im s under part of the fr eezer.
• Free zer is t ouch ing the wa ll. Le vel the free zer or m ove fr eezer sli ght ly.

Moisture forms on inside freezer
walls
• W eat her is hot and hum id, which inc reases inter nal rat e of f rost bui ld-
up. This is norm al.
• Door is s ligh tl y open . See OCCU RREN CE “D oor Pro blem s”.

less often .
Moisture forms on outside of
freezer
• Door is slight ly open, caus ing the cold air from inside th e free zer to
meet warm m oist air from outside. See OCCURRENCE “Door
Prob le m s” .
Odor in freezer
• Interi or ne eds to be clea ned. Clean interi or wit h spo nge, warm water
and bak ing sod a .
• Foods with stron g od ors are in t he fr eezer. C over th e food t i ghtl y.
Door will not close
• Freeze r is not level. It rocks on the floor when it is moved s lightl y. This
condit ion ca n forc e the cabin et out of square a nd m isalign the d oor.

Light bulb is not on
