BEFORE SETTING SURFACE CONTROLS Benefits of induction surface cooking Fast and efficient - The induction cooking zones heat faster while using less energy. Induction power levels are quick to boil and efficient when simmering. A cooler cooktop - A unique feature of the induction cooking zones is whether turned on or off, the cooking zones remain cooler than radiant type elements. Virtually no wasted heat is produced since the heat begins with the presence of cookware.
BEFORE SETTING SURFACE CONTROLS When using the cooking zones Moving cookware on smoothtop • Be sure to use cooktop cookware made with a magnetic base material. It is recommended to always use heavier gauge high quality cookware on the cooking zones. Even high quality cookware can still scratch the cooktop surface. Do not slide cookware on the ceramic cooktop. • Use quality cooktop cookware with heavier bottoms for better heat distribution, allowing for more even cooking results.

The glass surface may be hot from residual heat transferred from the cookware and burns may occur. • Do not touch hot cookware or pans directly with hands. Always use oven mitts or pot holders to protect hands from burns.
INDUCTION COOKING ZONES Pan sensing The cooking zone sensors located below the cooktop surface require that certain cookware conditions are met before the induction cooking zones can operate. The cooking zone display windows may display a pan sensing error message. If a cooking zone is activated and no cookware is detected, the affected induction cooking zone display window will flash with the last power level request setting (See Fig. 1).

The graphics on each cooking zone location are your guide to the correct minimum pan size for that zone.The shorter lines guide the minimum pan size (see Figure 1). The cookware bottom must meet the minimum area for the heating process to begin.
INDUCTION COOKING ZONES Cooktop display windows The range backguard provides a digital window for each of the cooking zones located on the cooktop. Power levels and messages are easily monitored and controlled using the window displays in combination with the corresponding control knobs. Available power level settings The cooktop control (Fig. 1) will display power levels ranging from Pb (power boost, Fig. 2), Hi (Fig. 3) to Lo (Fig. 4). The settings between 9.5 (Fig. 5) and 1.5 (Fig.
SETTING SURFACE CONTROLS Operating induction cooking zones Start most surface cooking on a higher setting and then adjust to a lower setting to finish cooking. The suggested settings (provided in Fig. 1) may vary slightly depending on the cookware design, quality and amount of food being prepared. Be sure to use quality cookware that is constructed with magnetic base material and meets the minimum and maximum pan size requirements.

SETTING SURFACE CONTROLS Warmer zone The purpose of the warmer zone is to keep foods at serving temperature, such as: vegetables, gravies, casseroles, soups, stews, breads, pastries and oven-safe dinner plates. Always start with hot food. Do not heat cold food on the warmer zone. All food placed on the warmer zone should be covered with a lid to maintain quality. For best results, when warming pastries or breads, the cover should have an opening to allow moisture to escape.

Lift up front of rack and slide out. flat oven rack half oven rack To replace - fit the rack onto the guides on the oven walls. Tilt the front of the rack upward and slide the rack back into place. Arranging - always arrange the oven racks when the oven is cool (prior to operating the oven).
BEFORE SETTING OVEN CONTROLS Effortless™ Oven Rack system Some models are equipped with a special oven rack system that automatically extends the oven rack to assist in access to your food items. This rack extends when the oven door is opened or closed. To assemble the Effortless™ Oven Rack system: 1. Locate all required parts. You will need the supplied oven rack (Effortless™ Oven Rack is a flat rack with a special dark coating on the left and right rack sides) and the 2 supplied chrome connector arms.

SETTING OVEN CONTROLS Setting the clock Setting 12 or 24 hour display mode When the range is first powered up, “12:00” will flash in the display (See Fig. 1). The clock display mode allows you to choose between 12 or 24 hr mode. The factory pre-set clock display mode is 12 hr. See the example below to change the default mode to 24 hr display. To set the clock to 1:30: Step Press To set 12 or 24 hour mode: Step 1. Press set clock. Press 1. Press and hold set clock for 6 seconds. 2.

The control may be programmed for silent operation and later returned to operating with all the normal sounds. To set silent mode: Step Press 1. Press and hold delay start for 6 seconds. 2. Press self-clean to toggle between “bEEP On” or “bEEP OFF”. Select “bEEP OFF” for silent mode. (Figs.
SETTING OVEN CONTROLS Setting bake Setting bake time Use the bake feature to cook most food items that require normal cooking temperatures. A reminder tone will sound once the oven reaches the set temperature. Bake can be set at any temperature from 170°F to 500°F. Use the timed bake feature to automatically turn the oven off after a desired length of time. To set bake using a default temperature of 350°F: Step Press 1. Press bake. 2. SETTING OVEN CONTROLS Setting delayed bake time and timed bake When the set bake time runs out: The delay start feature allows you to set a starting and ending time to the baking process. Prior to setting a delay start, be sure the time of day is set correctly. If the delay start needs to be set more than 12 hours in advance (12-24 hours), the control must first be programmed for 24 hour display mode. See “Setting 12 or 24 hour display modes” section. 1.
SETTING OVEN CONTROLS Convection Cooking Convect uses a fan to circulate heat inside the oven. Improved heat distribution allows for fast, even cooking and browning. It gives better baking results when using two racks at the same time. SETTING OVEN CONTROLS Convect broil Setting convect convert Use the convect broil feature to cook thicker cuts of meats that require direct exposure to radiant heat and the convection fan for optimum browing results. The convect convert feature allows you to convert any baking recipe using the convect (convection) feature. The control uses the normal recipe settings and adjusts to a lower temperature for convection baking. Convect convert can only be set with the convect bake feature.
SETTING OVEN CONTROLS Probe Use the probe for best results when cooking foods such as roasts, hams or poultry. The probe also works well with foods such as meat loaf and casseroles. For some food types, especially poultry and roasts, using a probe to check the internal temperature is the safest possible method to ensure properly cooked food. The probe feature, when set correctly, will alert when the internal food temperature reaches the desired “target” temperature.

SETTING OVEN CONTROLS Probe (cont’d) Choosing a setting for how the oven will operate once the probe reaches the target temperature Your oven is factory preset to automatically stop cooking and start the keep warm feature once the probe sensor reaches the set target temperature. This setting may be changed to continue cooking if desired. IMPORTANT Setting the option for how the oven will heat once the probe reaches the target temperature must be done when the oven is inactive.
SETTING OVEN CONTROLS Probe (cont’d) Probe error message: “Probe Too Hot” message: If the error message “Prob ERR” displays, check to be sure the probe connector is fully inserted into the receptacle. If the probe is fully inserted in the receptacle and the error message continues, the probe may need to be replaced. If the message “Prob” ... “Too”... “Hot” ... flashes in the display, the probe sensor temperature has exceeded 250°F (121°C).
SETTING OVEN CONTROLS Broil Use the broil function to cook meats that require direct exposure to heat for best browning results. When broiling, always remember to arrange the oven racks while oven is still cool. SETTING OVEN CONTROLS Setting keep warm Operating the oven light The keep warm feature will keep foods warm for serving up to 3 hours. The keep warm feature may be used alone or after cooking has finished using bake time and or delay start. To set the oven to keep warm: Step Press 1. Press keep warm. 2. Press start. The keep warm temperature and the warm icon will appear in the display (Fig. 1). The interior oven light will automatically turn ON when the oven door is opened.
SETTING OVEN CONTROLS Adjusting the oven temperature Restoring factory default settings Your appliance has been factory calibrated and tested to ensure an accurate baking temperature. For the first few uses, follow your recipe times and temperature recommendations carefully. If you think the oven is cooking too hot or too cool for your recipe times, you can adjust the control so the oven cooks hotter or cooler than the temperature displayed.
SETTING OVEN CONTROLS Setting the Sabbath ModeFeature (for use on the Jewish Sabbath & Holidays) For further assistance, guidelines for proper usage and a complete list of models with the Sabbath feature, please vist the web at http:\\www.star-k.org. WARNING FOOD POISONING HAZARD. Do not let food sit for more than one hour before or after cooking. Doing so can result in food poisoning or sickness. The bake time and delay start pads are used to set the Sabbath feature.
SETTING OVEN CONTROLS To Set the Sabbath Feature (cont’d) To turn off the oven but keep the Sabbath feature active: • If a delay start time longer than 12 hours (maximum of 24 hours) in advance is desired, set the display mode for the 24 hour setting. For detailed instructions see the section “Setting 12 or 24 hour display modes”. Press cancel. To turn off the Sabbath feature: Press and hold both the bake time and delay start pads for at least 3 seconds.
SELF-CLEANING Self-cleaning A self-cleaning oven cleans itself with high temperatures (well above normal cooking temperatures) which eliminate soils completely or reduces them to a fine powdered ash you can wipe away with a damp cloth. Your oven allows you to set 3 different self-cleaning cycle durations. A 3-hour cleaning time is best used for normal cleaning; 2-hour time for light soils and a 4-hour time option for heavier burnt-on soils.
SELF-CLEANING Setting a self-clean cycle or a delayed start self-clean cycle Examples: To start an immediate self-cleaning cycle and/or how to add a delay start time of 9:00 o’clock and shut-off self-clean automatically: Step Press 1. Be sure the clock is set with the correct time of day, ALL the oven racks are removed and the oven door is closed. When the self-clean cycle has completed: 1. CARE & CLEANING Cooktop maintenance IMPORTANT Consistent and proper cleaning is essential to maintaining your ceramic glass cooktop. Prior to using your cooktop for the first time, apply a ceramic cooktop cleaning cream (available in most hardware, grocery and department stores) to the ceramic surface. Clean and buff with a clean paper towel. This will make cleaning easier when soiled from cooking. Cooktop cleaning creams leave a protective finish on the glass to help prevent scratches and abrasions.
CARE & CLEANING Cooktop cleaning (cont’d) WARNING DO NOT use a cooktop cleaner on a hot cooktop. The fumes can be hazardous to your health and can chemically damage the ceramic glass surface. Do not use the following on the cooktop: • Do not use abrasive cleaners and scouring pads, such as metal and some nylon pads. They may scratch the cooktop, making it more difficult to clean. • Do not use harsh cleaners, such as chlorine bleach, ammonia or oven cleaners, as they may etch or discolor the cooktop.
CARE & CLEANING Removing and replacing the oven door Oven door hinge locations CAUTION The door is heavy. For safe, temporary storage, lay the door flat with the inside of the door facing down. To remove oven door: 1. Open oven door completely (horizontal with floor - See Fig. 1). 2. Pull the door hinge locks on both left and right door hinges down from the oven frame completely towards the oven door (See Fig. 2). A tool such as a small flatblade screwdriver may be required. 3.
BEFORE YOU CALL • Solutions to common problems Problem Solution Poor baking results. • Many factors affect baking results. Make sure the proper oven rack position is used. Center food in the oven and space pans to allow air to circulate. Allow the oven to preheat to the set temperature before placing food in the oven. Try adjusting the recipe’s recommended temperature or baking time. If you feel the oven is too hot or cool, see “Adjusting Oven Temperature” section in this Use & Care Guide.
Solutions to common problems • BEFORE YOU CALL Problem Solution Oven light does not work. • Be sure the light is secure in the socket. Also see “Changing & replacing the oven light” in the Care & Cleaning section. Oven smokes excessively during broiling. • Incorrect setting. Follow broiling instructions in Setting Oven Controls. • Make sure oven door is opened to broil stop position. • Meat too close to the broil element.
BEFORE YOU CALL • Solutions to common problems Problem Solution Scratches or abrasions on cooktop surface. • Coarse particles such as salt or sand between cooktop and utensils can cause scratches. Be sure cooktop surface and bottoms of utensils are clean before usage. Small scratches do not affect cooking and will become less visible with time. • Cleaning materials not recommended for ceramic-glass cooktop have been used.
