Important Safety Information READ AND FOLLOW ALL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS This appliance must be grounded. In the event of an electrical short circuit, grounding reduces the risk of electrical shock by providing an escape wire for the electrical current. ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS This appliance is equipped with a cord having a grounding wire with a grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into an outlet that is properly installed and grounded.
Installation Instructions The refrigerator temperature will vary depending on the quantity of food stored and the frequency with which the door is opened. NOTES: • This appliance is intended for FREE-STANDING INSTALLATION ONLY, and is NOT intended to be built-in. • Before connecting this appliance to electrical power supply, leave it to stand for approx. 24 hours, which will reduce the possibility of malfunction in the cooling system due to transport handling.
Installation Instructions DOOR REVERSAL INSTRUCTIONS NOTE: The left door and the right door stop of the freezer door are different. They can’t replace each other. DOOR AND HINGE REPLACEMENT 1. Replace the parts for the bottom hinge as shown (see Bottom Hinge graphic). Tighten screws. Replace the refrigerator door. NOTE: Provide additional support for the doors while the hinges are being moved. Do not depend on the door magnets to hold the doors in place while you are working. 2.

Operating Instructions OPERATING YOUR REFRIGERATOR NOTE: • If the unit is unplugged, loses power; you must wait 3 to 5 minutes before restarting the unit. If you attempt to restart before this time delay, the refrigerator will not start. • Large amounts of food will lower the cooling efficiency of the appliance. • Do not place the foods on the air outlet, and leave spaces for airflow. • Allow several hours for temperature to stabilize between two temperature selections.
Care and Maintenance VACATION TIME For short vacation periods, leave the control knob at the usual setting. During longer absences; a) remove all food. b) disconnect from electrical outlet. c) leave the door open to avoid possible formations of condensation, mold, or odors. POWER FAILURE Most power failures are corrected within an hour or two, and will not affect your refrigerator temperatures. However, you should minimize the number times you open the door while the power is off.
Troubleshooting Occasionally, a problem may arise that is minor in nature, and a service call may not be necessary. Use this troubleshooting guide for a possible solution. If the unit continues to operate improperly, call an authorized service depot or Danby’s Toll Free Number 1-800-263-2629 for assistance. PROBLEM 1) Unit does not work. 2) Refrigerator running too frequently. 3) Internal Temperature too cold. 4) Internal Temperature not cold enough. POSSIBLE CAUSE • No power to unit.
