Wireless Flash Control
The EF-X500 can act as a master  ash using optical
pulses to control  ash mode and output for remote
ash units in up to three groups (A, B, and C). Wireless
ash control is available in TTL (
P
60), TTL out-
put ratio selection (
P
64), manual (
P
68),
and repeating  ash (
P
71) modes.
The  ash can control remote
ash units in up to three
groups (Figure 1), each of
which can contain multiple
ash units (Figure 2). The
master  ash can be includ-
ed in any of the groups or
set not to  re (
P
55).
The channel for remote  ash
control can be chosen from
channels 1–4. Separate chan-
nels can be used for di erent
ash systems or to prevent
interference when multi-
ple systems are operating in
close proximity.

Test- re the  ash or take a test shot before the main photo and
add  ash units if lighting is insu cient. Avoid placing objects
where they might interfere with optical control between the
master and remote units.
