Charging the Battery

The battery is not fully charged at shipment and must be

fully charged before being used.

CAUTION

• The battery is not fully charged at shipment and must be

fully charged before being used.

• Do not stick labels onto the battery as this could cause

the battery to become jammed inside the camera.

• Any contact between the battery terminals could cause

the battery to short circuit and overheat.

• See “Notes and Cautions” for information on the

battery.

• Always use the Rechargeable Battery NP-40N

(included) or NP-40 (sold separately). The use of other

brands of rechargeable battery could cause faults or

damage to the camera.

• Do not split or peel outer labels of the battery.

1 Load the battery into the battery charger.

Set the battery correctly as indicated by the polarity icon.
