Troubleshooting and tips
The external monitor is blank or
the image is unstable

The wrong external monitor has been
selected
or the wrong screen resolution has
been set for
the application program.
► Terminate the ap plication program
in
Windows by pressing
Alt
+
F4
. If the fault
continues to occur after ending th
e program,
switch over to the notebook’s inte
rnal LCD
screen with
Fn
+
F4
. Change the
following setting:
► Select the correct monitor or set the c orrect
screen resolution.

► Select monitor: Select the correct type of
monitor under Start – Control Panel – Display

► Select monitor: Right-click on the desktop.

The notebook stops working

Cause Troubleshooting
The notebook is in Sta ndby or Suspend mode. ► Disable Standby mode (press a key) or
Suspend mode (switch notebook on).
An application programme has caused the
malfunction.
► Close th e application prog
ram or restart
the notebook by switching
it on/off or with
a warm boot.
The battery is dead.
► Charge the battery.
