Activate the power-mana gement features under Start symbol (Settings) Control Panel M obile
PC Power Options.
Activate the screen saver by clicking Start symbol (Settings) Con trol Panel Appearance and
Personalization Personalization Screen saver.

Right-click on the desktop. Switch on the screen saver by clicking Personalization Screen
saver.
You must note the following if the notebook is in energy-saving mode:
Once energy-saving mode is activated, any open les are stored in the main
memory, cache memory or in a swap le on the hard disk.
Never turn off your notebook while it is in an energy-saving m o de. Once the battery is
almost empty, you should close any open les and not enter energy-saving mode.
Switch the notebook off:
If you wish to conne ct external devices
If you wish to disconnect the notebook fro m external devices
If you want to change the memory
If you are inserting or removing a PC card or ExpressCard
If you do not require the notebook for a lengthy period:
If necessary, exit energy-saving mode by moving the mouse, pressing any key or s witching on
the notebook.
Exit all open pro grams and sw
itch the notebook off.
Hard disk
Hard disk
The hard disk is the most important storage medium of you r notebook. You can work c onsiderably
faster and more efciently if you copy applications and les from C Ds/DVDs to your hard disk.
When the hard disk is accessed, the drive indicato r lights up.
