Removing the CD/DVD by hand ( emergency removal)

In the e vent of a power failure or damage to th e drive it may be necessa ry
to manually remove the CD/DVD.

Switch your n otebook off.
Push a pen or a piece of wire (such as a
paperclip) rmly into the opening (1).
The drive tray is ejected. Yo u can now pull
the drive tray (2) out of the drive.
Regional codes for DVD lms and DVD p layers
DVDlmDVDRegionalcode s
DVD lms and DVD players (e.g. the DVD drive of your notebook) are always
provided with a regional code. The regional codes of DVD lms and D VD players
mustmatchsothattheDVDlm can be played back.
There are six different regional codes:
Regional code 1:
USA and Canada
Regional code 2:
Egypt, Europe, Japan, South
Africa and the Middle East
Regional code 3:
South-east Asia (incl. Hong Kong, Indonesia, th e Philippines, South Korea,
Taiwan)
Regional code 4:
Australia, New Zealand, South-East Pacic, Central and South America,
and the Caribbean
Regional code 5:
Africa (except South Afric
a), India and th e former Soviet s tates
Regional code 6:
China
The DVD drive of your notebook supports the function RPC-II (Phase II System of R egional
Playback C ontrol). This function permits the nal user to change the regional code o f
the drive up to ve times to play back c orresponding DVD lms. After this, the last
regional code selected is retaine d and cannot be changed again.
If a DVD lm can be watched in all regions, it has the regional code 0.
Before buying a DVD lm you should check that the regional code of the DVD lm
matches the region code set fo r the DVD drive of your n otebook.
