Troubleshooting and tips
If you cannot set up a connection to the remote station
► Make sure that the two stations are within wireless range (maximum
30 m apart in buildings under favorable conditions). The range is
dependent on the structural conditions!
► For test purposes, configure both stations without security settings
(for Odyssey client Association mode to open and Encryption method to
none).
Connection transfer rates
The standard connection transfer rate for a connection to an access point
(infrastructure mode) is 54 Mbps maximum. For a connection to another
system (ad hoc mode or peer-to-peer mode) it is 11 Mbps, since the
Fujitsu Siemens Computers WLAN card has "WiFi" certification. To also
reach a transfer rate of 54 Mbps in this mode, you have to change the
properties of your WLAN card:
► Click on Start.
► Click with the right mouse button on My computer - Properties -
Hardware - Device manager.
► Double click on Network adapter - Connect2Air™ WLAN E-5400 USB
D1700.
This displays the properties of the WLAN module. Now select the
Configuration Profile property in the Extended tab and change the value from
WiFi Spec to Mixed. Confirm the setting with OK.
