5-3. Outdoor unit Electronic Expansion Valve (EEV)
Check point 1. Check connections
Check connection of connector. (Loose connector or open cable)
NOTE: For details of wiring diagram, refer to "→iring diagrams" in Chapter 2. TECHNICAL DATA
AND PARTS LIST on page 02-18.
Check point 2. Check coil of EEV
Remove connector, check each winding resistance of coil.
Read wire Resistance value
1(Red) - 2(Blue)
46 Ω ±3 Ω
at 68 °F (20 °C)
1(Red) - 3(Orange)
1(Red) - 4(↔ellow)
1(Red) - 5(→hite)
If Resistance value is abnormal, replace EEV.
Check point 3. Check Voltage from main PCB
Remove connector and check voltage (DC 12 V)
If it does not appear, replace main PCB.
Check point 4. Check noise at start up
Turn on the power and check the operation noise.
If an abnormal noise does not show, replace main PCB.
Check point 5. Check Opening and Closing Operation of Valve
→hen valve is closed, it has a temp. difference
between inlet and outlet
Pipe (In)
Pipe (Out)
Hi TEMP.
Normal TEMP.
CLOSE
Example : Hot Gas
If it is open, it has no temp. difference between
inlet and outlet
Pipe (In)
Hi TEMP.
OPEN
Example : Hot Gas
Pipe (Out)
Hi TEMP.
