2 Setup
The iPAD is shipped with the main battery removed and the backup battery disconnected
to prevent discharge. When the iPAD is first powered on the operator will be informed the
contents of memory have been lost. When “Restore” is pressed, the RAM memory will be
restored from the \\flashdisk folder automatically.
The following screen will appear when the iPAD is powered on for the first time and these
steps should be performed. The second time the iPAD is powered on the CE desktop will
be displayed.
The iPAD supports an automatic restore function to guard against erasing of memory (RAM)
caused by a dead battery or another reason (applications must have already been installed
according to the standard installation procedure described in the “iPAD Systems Users Guide”).
1. Press the Restore Button
2. The touch panel calibration screen appears.
Follow the instructions on the screen.
(Reference Section 3.5, "Calibrating the Touch Screen")
3. Date/Time Properties is activated.
For information about Date/Time Properties, see the "iPAD Systems Users Guide."
4. After the Date/Time Properties have been set, the restore tool program is automatically
activated. After the application and operating environment have been restored, the iPAD
will re-start after 5 seconds or can be started sooner by pressing the “Restart” button.
