Access Point (Inf
rastructure) Mode
Infrastructure
mode refers t o a wireless network architecture in which devices communicate with
wireless or wir
ed network devices by communicating through an Access Point. In infrastructure
mode, wireless
devices can communicate with each other or with a wired network. Corporate
wireless netwo
rks operate in i nfrastru cture mode because they require access to the W LAN in
order to acces
s services, devices, and computers (e.g., file se rvers, printers, databases).
