Installing an accessible drive
Open the casing (s ee "Opening the casing", Page 37).
If you are installing the drive in the upper bay and a cover (optional) is
already in place, please remove it.
or
If you are installing the drive in the lower bay, break out the pre-stamped metal
panel on the drive bay op ening using a screwdriver.
Do n ot throw aw ay the cover. For co oling, protection against re, and in order to comply
with EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) regulations, you must retthecoverifyou
remove the drive again later (see "
Removing an accessible drive", Page 50).
Adjust the required settings on the drive (also on drives which are already installed, if necessary).

Slide the accessible drive into the ca sing as far as the stop (1).
Plug the data and the power supply connectors into the drive. Make sure the polarity is correct.
Press on the retaining clip (2) and, at the s ame time, slide it up slightly.
C lose the casing ( see "
Closing the casing", Page 38).
It may be necessary to modify the entry for the drive in the BIOS Setup.
