Installing/removing a SmartCard reader and/o r
WLAN module (optional)
You can also install a SmartCard reader and/or a WLAN module for wireless LAN (Local
Area Network) in the installation bay for the 3½ inch hard disk drive.
The SmartCard reader and WLAN module can be installed together in the carrier.
However, you can also install only one of the two boards. The WLAN module is
installed in the lower slot of the carrier and the SmartCard reader in the upper slot of
the carrier. If you want to install the Sm artCard r eader and the WLAN module together,
first install the WLAN module. Removal is carried out in the reverse order.
Removing the carrier
► Open the casing (s ee "Opening the casing", Page 37).
► Pull the data cable conne ctors from the ca rrier.

► Remove the screws (1) on the right side of the carrier.
► Slide the carrier out of the casing in the direction of the arrow (2).
